Imma trademark this junk

The allnighter's gift from the heavens.
I think they give me energy because they have coffee in it, but a cup of coffee uses around 30 beans and there's probably only two beans in each piece so this is probably false advertising.....

Ingredients:
COFFEE-1/2 cup chopped, not ground (otherwise it'll get this rank as gritty texture)
1/2 cup walnuts chopped
1 1/2 cup of dark chocolate
1-2 Tbsn butter

How quick can you:
So these are fancy chocolate clusters that are so yum!
  1. Get the chocolate and butter all melted
  2. Once melted add nuts
  3. Then add coffee. Mix it like a mixer (great sentence Bek)
  4. Lay out on flat plate, get it around a 1-2cm thick and refrigerate (freezing is better if you can)
  5. Once cold, cut into little squares
Trust me, they are yummy!
How quick did I do?
It's pretty quick so you need to keep an eye on it when doing the melting. The fridge bit takes a while (obviously).

Ok let's be honest. Was it good?
WARNING: It's bitter. And if you keep burning it, it gets even more bitter-fun fact. But it is soo yumm. If you love dark chocolate and you love coffee then you will love love love this. And better yet-make it with fair trade stuff! And it's reasonably healthy!

I like to store mine in the freezer and pull it out whenever. Stops it from melting too much.

Filmy times with yummo choco!

My Tree Has So Many Feijoas I Made A Smoothie Out Of It

These names are just getting ridiculous now.

Ingredients:
Handful of feijoas
Handful of berries
Half a green apple
1/2-1 cup of milk
A few splodges of yoghurt (maybe around 3 tablespoons)
Honey

How quick can you:
  1. BLEND IT ALL! DOOOO ITTT-Shia Labeouf (That joke is sooo last week Bek)
  2. Add honey till super sweet (or not sweet. Whatever you want.)
How quick did I do?
My blender sucks. Someone sponsor me to get a nutribullet

Ok let's be honest. Was it good?
I froze it so it wouldn't go brown when I was at uni the next day. But this meant that I had to wait till 6 in the evening for it to defrost (because Wellington is too cold), so it was pretty pointless. But when I did drink it, it was gooooddd!! And the colour remained!

Reused bottle. This is the actual smoothie.
Not the simply squeezed stuff. I'm not that lazy man...

I'm going to stop buying food

I NEEDED TO STOP BUYING FOOD WHENEVER I HAD A BREAK AT WORK.

So I made a salad.
Ingredients:
Avocado
Cooked Onions
Fancy Lettuce
Peppadews
Feta
Pine nuts
Sunflower seeds
Walnuts

How quick can you:
  1. Cut up everything
  2. Cook onion with a bit of oil if need be but i like mine without oil (I have a non-stick pan)
  3. Don't try to separate all the ingredients to get a lame picture
  4. Eat it. Ok?
EAT IT BY THE WINDOW SO EVERYONE CAN STARE AT YOU AND GO 'DAYUM THAT SALAD LOOK GOOD.'

How quick did I do?
I spent wayy too long making it look the least bit photogenic

Ok let's be honest. Was it good?
My boss came over to me to say how delicious it looked. And it tasted delicious too.

Rasberry almonde whatever-de

Uni has started which means this blog will resurrect. I can hear the joyful hollers.
So I've started this new thing where I make slices each week and freeze them or put them in the fridge or whatever, which will save me heaps of time during the week when it comes to making lunch as:
a) I already have slices I can grab out of the fridge so I don't waste time panicking
b) I save myself from buying slices which I do all too often. And the ones at the shops are gross anyway. Does anybody know how to make a good slice?
c) Perfect thing to eat during the gaps between lectures as we all know its way too hard to whip out an intense lunch while walking through the packed corridors of uni or too awkward to pull out during your 10 minute breaks in lectures.

allrecipes.au has a list of 'healthy' slice recipes. I'm not fully convinced they're healthy but whatevs.

So I made their Rasberry and Walnut slice.
Ingredients:
http://allrecipes.com.au/recipe/7536/raspberry-and-walnut-slice.aspx?o_is=LV
Except I substituted the walnuts with almonds. Much better.

How quick can you:
Read whatever the website tells you to do. I put a little bit of coconut on top as well.
How quick did I do?
That batter took a while to mix....

Ok let's be honest. Was it good?
I don't know. I thought it was a bit dry. Not the best of recipes. But mum's already eaten most of it so I guess we have a fan. Absolutely perfecto with acidophilus unsweetened yoghurt.

Study Party Salad

Party for one?
So it's the end of uni and I'm studying for exams. Here's the latest salad I whipped up during the period. Apart from this, sadly Subway has been my only source of fuel this exam period.

Hey you have serious hayfever and try studying. There's waayyy too much tension. WHEN WILL I JUST SNEEZE?

Anyway....

Ingredients:
Capsicum
Lettuce
Sesame seeds
Sunflower seeds
Carrots
Avocado
Cucumber
Fig Dressing

How quick can you:
  1. Cut up
  2. Drizzle a bit of fig dressing on top. I used Collitali which my sister demanded my mother buy while in Italy because it is so amazing. But yeah, it's pretty amazing and the perfect flavour to lift the dull salad up....like a lot.
  3. Chuck it. Mix it. Shake it.
'Shake it up. Shake it up.'
-Taylor Swift when making the salad up in the kitchen after we were baking it up.

How quick did I do?
Too quick. Like woaaahhhh. What was that?
Ok let's be honest. Was it good?
I ate it pretty quick so I don't know. Like yeah. Exactly what I need and almost way to refreshing.

Aren't You Tarra-gonna Teach Me How to Make That Salad?

Ingredients:
Cheese Scone
Tarragon Mustard Mayonnaise
Celery
Peppadew
Fusilli Pasta
Cheese (Feta is perff but any smooth and not too flavourful is good)
Capsicum
Red Onion
Lettuce

How quick can you:
  1. Cut scone into crouton sized pieces. Or use croutons. I don't really care.
  2. Dice vegetables to whatever you like. Again, I don't care. But small is good.
  3. Boil pasta and add sauce and what not but I actually bought the tarragon mustard mayonnaise pasta half price from Wishbone. Whoops. Home-made fail. (I also took the cheese scone from work, Sue me.)
  4. Stuff peppadews with feta and chuck it in (Unless you're like me and eat it all before you finish making the salad and force it down your parent's gobs too so they can share in the joy)
'Mix it all together and you know that it's the best of both worlds'
-Miley Cyrus in regards to my salad.

How quick did I do?
I genuinely got home, chucked it in and was done. But I didn't boil the pasta because I am lazy so like whatever.

Ok let's be honest. Was it good?
I'll let Tessa be the judge of that.
(It was good. Very good. Peppadews were 5 stars.
Tessa loved it.)
